The bar is decorated in a pastiche of 70s and 80s vintage images giving a sense of adventure and fun. The ceiling’s light wells with a mystic Moroccan glow embrace you, drawing you into the deep oversized sofas, 18th century stone carved windows with open fires casting a picture of travelling in time. PJ Branagans bar is popular with Irish and international tourists since it opened the 1970s. Today it is still frequented by writers, actors and poets visiting the local area, inspired by Ulysses. The James Joyce Tower, the historical Martello Tower built in 1804 located at Sandymount is just 10 minutes away. PJ Brangans is an up and coming venue for after-work, serving vintage Irish pop culture and simple hot and cold bites, tasty toasties, platters, lunch and dinner.
